Week 28 Update
Everything's still A-OK! My glucose levels from Monday's test came back good, so no gestational diabetes. Woo Hoo! My iron was a little low (they think just because there are two babies taking it from me), but there's nothing to worry about. I just have to begin an iron suppliment. Again I have to go back in a week just to be on the safe side. The doc even said I'll probably be okay to go Up North over Memorial Day Weekend, although he wouldn't make any promises. :o)
My shower last Sunday was wonderful! The babies were blessed with many more gifts and their rooms are finally coming together. I've posted some pictures of them. You'll notice her room is still a little messy since that's where we've piled all the gifts. I plan to go through everything this weekend and get organized.
We really only have a couple necessities and wants left to get. There's a Mom-2-Mom sale for multiples this weekend so my mom and I are going to look for swings and rocker/gliders for each of the babies. Other than that we just need more bottles and lots of diapers. We're drawing nearer to their arrival so I just want to make sure everything is ready for them!
That's all the updates for now. Look for another post at the end of next week!

Week 27 Update
Things look great! Both babies are about 2 1/2 pounds with good strong heartbeats. I don't think I've mentioned this, but Baby A is our little boy and Baby B is our little girl. His heartbeat is about 150 bpm and hers is about 165 bpm. As always I was reminded to take it easy. We got an ultrasound today (new pictures on the left) because they could only find one heartbeat with the dopplar. They move around so much it's hard to know if they've found two babies or the same one twice. The docs also wanted to check for contractions. I'm having some very mild ones, but they're not concerned as long as there aren't more than four an hour. Both babies are now head down, but she's winning the race (in other words she's further down than he is). Even though they're low, they're not in any danger of trying to come out just yet as long as I don't do too much. My weight and measurements are good, too. I've gained about 20 lbs and am measuring at 38 weeks (remember I'm actually only 27). I asked about the weight (since I was told at the beginning I could expect to gain anywhere from 50-60 lbs) and the doc said he's perfectly fine with the amount I've gained. I've steadily gained a little at a time and the babies are healthy so the less I have lose later, the better!
Monday is our Glucose test to check for gestational diabetes (routine for every pregnant woman). As I mentioned this is routine and there's no reason for concern based on my weight, etc. It's more of a precaution.
Below are some short videos from the ultrasound today. She is sucking her thumb a lot and he's beating up his sister a lot! The little flutter you see are the heartbeats. The last one is both babies and both heartbeats.
My second and final baby shower is Sunday so I'm super excited for that! We got so many wonderful things from Brian's side of the family and we're so thankful to everyone. I'll post some pictures of the bedrooms as soon as they're more put together. They're close, but not quite ready for posting yet! :o)
I think that's it for now. We'll continue to keep you updated as things change (or don't change). *Just a little note: a singleton baby should be weighing about 2 1/2 pounds at this point, so the fact that both of ours are weighing that is EXTREMELY GOOD!
Have a super weekend! I hope the weather wherever you are is as good as ours this weekend!

26 Week Update
Our newest pictures (from Week 24) are posted! It's so amazing how much detail you can really see, especially in the 4-D ones!
Our 26 week appointment went well. Both babies heart rates are good and so far there are no signs indicating any risk of preterm labor. They're about two pounds each now and are "going wild in there" as the doctor so technically put it. I'm measuring between 34 and 37 weeks already, which is completely normal, but I'm freaking out about how big that means I'm actually going to be. Oh well, as long as they're healthy I can deal with being a beached whale for a little while longer. Again I was reminded that I'm still suppose to be doing practically nothing (which I am). Dr. Lecea also checked my iron levels today because he thought I looked a little pale-that could also be because I'm sleeping soundly for about three hours every night! The babies seem to have fallen into more of a pattern as far as activity. They're pretty quiet at night (hopefully this continues once they're born :o) and pretty active during the day. Doc says that they are pretty low which is what is causing the constant pressure that I feel, but nothing to worry about.
We have another doctor appointment scheduled in a week and they'll probably continue at one week intervals from this point forward just so they can keep a close eye on all three of us. On Monday, April 21 I go for my Glucose Test (to rule out gestational diabetes-it's routine) and for a shot of Rhogam because I have A negative blood type.
Tomorrow is our first of two baby showers and I'm so excited! Our basement is getting close to finished so we can finally start moving stuff out of the jungle room and really get things set up and ready. It's very exciting to see everything coming together. I'll post pictures of their bedrooms as soon as they're somewhat complete. I'd like to have things ready to go (as much as possible) by the end of the month. I'm a bit of a planner so the sooner they're done, the more relaxed I'll be! :o)
I think that's it for now. I'll have another post (and maybe new pictures) up after next Friday. Have a SPECTACULAR weekend!
