24 Week Update

We had our 24 week doctor's appointment on Friday, March 28th and I'm happy to report that the babies are doing great! I had some mild contractions on Wednesday so the doctor was concerned about that. But after a test they ran on Friday they determined that I am not at any immediate (within the next two weeks) risk of going into preterm labor. I do, however, have to "significantly decrease my activity level" according to the doc. I plan to follow that pretty carefully as I'd certainly rather be at home taking it easy than on strict bedrest with only bathroom privleges or worse-stuck in the hospital for weeks! Yikes! That's not my idea of fun. So I guess I'll just have to let Brian spoil me-oh darn. :o)

The babies are at 1 lb 9 oz and very active. He is on the top laying across my belly and she is laying on her belly as far down as she can get, both of their heads on the right side of my tummy. I'm feeling them moving A LOT now! He is definitely more active than she is and takes every opportunity to start kicking and punching when I'm resting. Apparently we don't all like to be sleeping at the same time. Is this a sign of things to come???

According to what Dr. Cherekuri said Friday, our goal is to keep them in for at least ten more weeks-more if they'll cooperate-but week 34 is definitely the earliest we'd like them to make their entrance. That puts us at June 4th. Anything beyond that is a bonus!

Like an idiot I forgot my picture CD this week (there really is such a thing as pregnancy brain and I've got it) so I won't have more pictures until next time (April 11). I'll put them up as soon as I get them.

Have a wonderful week!
